Inspired by Children and Animals, which represent for Chilani the foundation and building blocks of balance and life itself. Without them, there is no "Chi" which is our drive to succeed and make a difference. In traditional Chinese culture Chi can literally be translated as "material energy",
"life force" or "energy flow".
Nurturing, pampering and even loving your inner self is an essential part of keeping your life force and energy flow healthy and impactful. If you cannot be kind to yourself, how will you find the strength to be kind to others?
Chilani's skincare wants to make that part easy for you. Inner and outer health, beauty and glow are mirror images of each other empowering your Chi.

Cindy, the formulater, founder and creative mind behind Chilani is of mixed Asian and European background.
¨Since I can remember I have always have been occupied with "world pain" - One of my first childhood memories is of me, visiting my father in Jakarta begging him for a few coins so I could buy and release caged birds at the local market. Not a smart answer to solving the exploitation of wild birds.. but I was six and didn't understand why my father wouldn't give me money to release all the birds.. every day".
From that point on, I promised myself to live in a way that no one, including Mother Earth, should suffer for my pleasure, ever! But eventually, you grow up, and the promise is put on the back burner and like everyone else you are chasing the money to pay for rent, take care of yourself and your loved ones, you join the commercial machine and 20 years fly by.
As a Dancer, Singer and Model, the entertainment industry allowed me to escape, dream .. pretend .. and I would be lying if I said I did not have a good time.. I had a great time! But this nagging guilt of letting down my 6-year-old self kept getting stronger and stronger. Only after an illness that took me several years to get to terms with, did, I decided to turn things around and deliver on my promise finally.¨
But how did I became a formulator?
"Being a model and dancer, you always have to look your best on the outside. That means you are constantly in and out of makeup, hair dying, extensions etc. and in daily, direct contact with chemicals and heavy metals and tested on animals... not good for anyone and I was craving something natural and cruelty free that works for my maturing skin. Many products weren’t really working for me. So I did my research and that’s when I came across using natural oils which while nourishing and leaves the skin smooth they don’t leave you with a greasy feeling. It worked incredibly well and all my friends loved my mixtures of different kind of oils. Encouraging me to sell my oils I came across an online diploma for formulating natural skincare. I was fascinated by all the different oils. So I tried for years all the oils on my face. With many formulations I had really good results, but some made my skin feel dry and flaky.
My husband would then be telling me to buy a real good creme to sort out my skin problems - “leave it to the experts” he said. But I refused as I wanted to see what really works and what doesn’t. So basically years of trying different kind of oils on my skin is the result of my skincare line today.

My first product was the RESTORING FACIAL OIL, and when my friends gave me glowing feedback, I decided to do it full time, and Chilani Skincare was born.

CHILANI CARES
Spending a lot of time in beautiful Spain, we discovered that with some TLC and a few Euros we can make a real difference to the many dogs left on the street to cater for themselves.
It is hard not to intervene or help when you know you can, but we stretch every Euro and ensure we focus on prevention as much as taking care of the basics here and now.
We feed stray dogs directly, treat them for fleas, ticks and mange and actively participate in rehoming. Dogs who are not chipped and where we cannot locate any owner we work with local vets to decide if neutering is the best cause of action for the animal. Not something everyone supports, but it is the only way to stop the vicious circle of an ever-growing population of starving and suffering dogs.
When we started our Skincare line, one promise that we do not comprise is to give 10% of all turnover to animal welfare and other social causes.

Real Beauty
Real beauty is something we probably cannot put into words.... but you know it when you see it! I have found inspiration in so many women where “real beauty” shines through like an aura so strong that you are just left in awe and admiration... A combination of self-confidence, zest for life, inner calm and kindness is probably something that they all have in common...but first and foremost; anyone who smiles makes the real beauty shine!
I wish we all knew the secret so that we could unlock that inner beauty and shine regardless of how insecure we may feel in the inside. But in my experience, if you can meet the world with a smile you will automatically unlock your beauty and better still influence others to unlock theirs.
Living in a fast-moving world makes it feel like a competition that can steal our glow and make us doubt ourselves; it can make us feel ugly and lonely. As a woman, we play so many roles and have so many responsibilities that we often forget to nurture our own inner glow....so to release that inner beauty you have to reclaim some “me” time...if you can’t be good to yourself how can you be truly good to others?
